No less than 7 dead in the ranks of the police since October 1st

The list of victims of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) is growing day by day. Since October 1, 2019, there have been some fifty victims, among them seven dead, including Richardson Andrévil, an agent of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order (UDMO), in the Nippes, executed Tuesday in Chalon.

The Commissioner Michel-Ange Louis Jeune, spokesman of the PNH, in a conference-report this Thursday, November 21, 2019 to the central direction of the judicial police (DCPJ), said that the police institution has recorded about fifty victims, including 7 dead, since 1 October.

Richardson Andrévil, a UDMO officer, is the name of the latest victim. He was killed on Tuesday, November 19, during an armed attack on his patrol in the town of Chalon, district of the Nippes department.

During this same period, about a hundred victims were also identified by the police in the civilian population.

The PNH, according to its spokesman has arrested about 221 people, 16 firearms seized and 5 vehicles confiscated during this period.

Commissioner Louis-Jeune took the opportunity to present to the press individuals that the police have apprehended in the context of the operation called « Spider Web ». It is about Emmanuel Dorival, arrested in possession of a cocktail Molotov, Philogogène Alexet, Jean Examen and Djonky Charles. The PNH also arrested three individuals with firearms Wednesday in Thomassin, in the town of Petion-Ville.

The weapons and ammunition seized at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, in the luggage of a Haitian American soldier, Jacques Yves Sébastien Duroseau, on Tuesday, November 12, were also presented to the press.
