The Opposition wants to relaunch the mobilization

1 min read

The various formations of the Opposition call for the continuation of the anti-government mobilization on the occasion of the national holiday marking the fight of Vertières. At separate press conferences, Pitit Dessalines, leader Moïse Jean Charles and the leaders of the Alternative urged the demonstrators to revive the mobilization.

« The mobilization must not falter », said Senator Nenel Cassy. In the absence of André Michel, it was Assad Volcy who insisted on important events, particularly in the North and the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. The aim is to prevent President Jovenel Moïse from participating in the official ceremonies on 18 November 2019 in Vertières.

Several important voices of the Alternative whose senators Yuri Latortue and Antonio Cheramy were not present at this conference.

On his side, Moïse Jean Charles welcomes the political agreement between opposition parties. Pitit Dessalines, who is not involved in the deal, sets out his conditions to endorse this agreement. He insists on the need for the personalities who will be designated as provisional president and Prime Minister to respond to the demands of the people who guard the barricades.

The former presidential candidate is once again calling on his supporters to hoist the Dessalinian flag, black and red, on the public buildings.
