1 min readBernard Joseph, Deputy Mayor of Port-au-Prince City Council led by Youry Chevry, elected in the municipal ballot of 2015, avoiding being among those who are subject to corruption and non-compliance with the code of ethics of the institutions of the country, submits to the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) his letter of resignation from the Municipal Council of Port-au-Prince this Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
Although corruption and Haitian politicians seem to be good, some people do not let yourself be floundered. Such is the case of Bernard Joseph, Deputy Mayor of the City of Port-au-Prince who maintains that the City Hall to which he was assigned bathes in corruption and internal theft since their installation on July 5, 2016.
According to the former Mayor Deputy of the commune of Port-au-Prince, the municipal administration is directed by a single family. Owned by Senior Mayor Youry Chevry’s sister-in-law and several important functions controlled by the Mayor’s wife and mother-in-law, a corrupt accountant, they all work for the well-being of the Chevry family.
Several attempts were made with Minister Brunet, MICT’s holder at the time according to Bernard Joseph, but no follow-up was ever done.
Recall that Bernard Joseph was elected by municipal ballot for the municipality of Port-au-Prince on October 25, 2015 and installed on July 05, 2016 as Deputy Mayor of the City Council led by Ralph Youry Chevry.
