Jovenel Moïse, President of the Republic, in a speech to commemorate the 216th anniversary of the « bataille de Vertière » on 18 November, recognizes that the change hoped for by the whole population will not be easy to achieve, invites all the forces of the countries to join forces to accelerate the process of transforming society and put an end to discrimination and social exclusion.
This ceremony took place in the presence of several members including the High Staff and soldiers of the army led by Lieutenant General Jodel Lesage.
In his speech, the president calls for collaboration and reaffirms that in no case he could be the guardian of such a system that tries to regenerate by passing the victims for the tormentors. In this sense, he takes the opportunity to ask the Youth to stand out from those who intend to manipulate to seize power by means devious.
