Lubérice denounces the plot of the Opposition and the Court of Cassation
2 min readThe Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Reynald Lubérice, sharply criticizes the behavior of certain elected officials and judges of the Court of Cassation. He described as unacceptable the actions of some senators and Supreme Court judges implicated by him in an anti-constitutional and undemocratic process aimed at overthrowing the head of state.
In the line of sight of Mr. Lubérice the judges of the Court of Cassation who at no time denied the reports of political negotiations with the opposition. « If the Court of Cassation takes itself seriously it should publish a note to say that it does not accept the principle of coup d’état, hammered Mr. Lubérice in an exclusive interview with Radio Métropole.
He is surprised that a judge whose function is to administer justice, which is part of the system, can be, as if by magic, chosen to change the system. He joked that politicians and judges would argue that the temporary president who will be appointed will replace the symbolic president of 2001, Gerard Gourgue.
With respect to the Marriott agreement, Mr. Lubérice considers it a non-agreement. An agreement can not be reached when it jeopardizes individual freedoms and democratic institutions guaranteed by the constitution, he says. For him the priority is the cessation of violence that paralyze economic and academic activities. We must stop using terror as a political approach, he insists.
The Secretary General of the Council of Ministers does not offend against Senator Youri Latortue who denounced the purchase of 14 armored vehicles. It’s a national security file. This can make a senator feel like chaos is settling in the country. When the senator has nothing to do, that he can not ratify a government, that he can not manage to pass a single piece of legislation that can improve the living conditions of the people, that is mind boggling. That we have essentially incompetent elected officials, who in 4 years have not done their job and who set themselves up as a lesson giver. These people can not do anything that can serve the country. History will remember that this is a twisted situation, concluded Mr. Lubérice.
