AHJEDD merges with the American Embassy in Haiti to raise awareness and develop the capacity of journalists in the economic and financial fields
1 min readThe Haitian Association of Journalists for Sustainable Development (AHJEDD) and the American Embassy in Haiti join forces for raising awareness and developing the capacities of journalists in the economic and financial fields through a project entitled « Capacity Development of Journalists of the Department of the West in the economic and financial fields » launched this Saturday, December 07, 2019.
With a funding amount of eighteen thousand US dollars from the United States Embassy in Haiti, this project based on the « Capacity Development of Journalists of the Department of the West in the economic and financial fields », aims to feed the debate on the issues in Haiti by strengthening the capacity of journalists in the economic field and financial in order to have a network of Journalists sensitized and trained in economic issues and development in the national territory.
Specifically, the project aims to help journalists gain a better understanding of economic, financial and sustainable development concepts; Establish and fuel a high-level debate on economic issues in the country through higher production of economic issues by members of the Haitian press.
This project implemented in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince with the participation of thirty (30) journalists thus contributes to the achievement of the priorities of CSOs in Haiti because it strengthens the professionalism of journalists and contributes to the fight against corruption compared to the themes developed.
Recall that the AHJEDD is an association of Haitian journalists founded in 2018 whose objective is to make accessible economic and financial data to the general public
