And if Moïse Jean-Charles was the president announced by the consensual alternative?
3 min readIn an intervention on a sister station of the capital, the spokesman of the democratic and popular sector, André Michel had announced that on November 18, 2019 the president that the alternative will have chosen in place of the Head of State, Jovenel Moïse, the speech of circumstance on the site of Vertières. The latter should leave the capital in procession to the North. Ironically, neither Jovenel, nor the announced president has walked the site of the heroes in Vertières if not, the most feared leader of the opposition also signatory of the alternative, MoïseJean-Charles, who spoke, November 18, 2019 on this historic site.
For two years, the head of state, Jovenel Moïse, could not go to Vertières. In his lair, he held his occasional speech continuing to call his opponents to the dialogue. He also praised the prowess of the national heroes and praised his efforts towards the stability of the nation. It was also an opportunity for him to praise his army as an objective response to his campaign promises.
If it is a fact that the head of state was forced to stay at the national palace, it was also noted that the president must assured the transition has not been either in Vertières as announced a week in advance by the signatory member of the alternative, André Michel. According to the lawyer of virulent and assured language, the president whom the opposition would install would be in detention of his total power and will be installed in one of the public buildings of the country.
Paradoxically, the leader of the Pitit Desalin platform, Moïse Jean-Charles, held his speech in Vertières last November 18. Ovationate by his activists, the former senator, told anyone who wants to hear that he is the one that the people had voted because, he says, Jovenel Moses is no longer the representative of the nation. « He has been revoked by the people and the international community must understand the message, » said the secretary-general of the pitit Desalin platform. Euphoric, he describes as victorious this event believing that the Dessalinian dream is about to be realized.
Coming from an international tour, Moïse Jen-Charles, is satisfied with the fact that Haiti is carving an important place on the international chessboard. For him, it is a good step towards the establishment of another system. The secretary general of the pitit Desalin platform also applauds the determination of the population who did not allow the tenant of the national palace to defile the monuments of Vertières. For him it is a considerable advance that, he says, it is the representative of the ampereur, Jean-Jacques Dessalines who held the speech of circumstance on the historical site.
In this political context where the future of the country is revealed from days to days darker, opinions diverge after this event. For more than one, in addition to the political agreement that they believe weakens the opposition, this trigger of the Desalin pity will fuel the underlying conflict raging in the middle of this bloc. For them, it is an additional element that, presumably, will be an opportunity to dislocate political opposition struggling to find unity.
A member of the alternative, Moïse Jean-Charles took advantage of political chysme. He was not in fact the target of the signatories of the alternative that spoke of the temporary president but, as a good strategist, he took advantage of the opportunity to strengthen his image. For the moment, the other structures of the opposition have not yet commented on this event of November 18 but, as for the political context, this block is gaining momentum while remaining fragile as an egg.
