PARASOL declares war on human rights predators including the Dominican Republic and international environmental law
2 min readIn the company of several other organizations, the party Patriyot Rasanble pou Sove Lakay (PARASOL) has lodged a complaint with the Office of Protection of the Citizen (OPC), Tuesday, December 10, 2019 against X and the Dominican Republic for systematic violation of human rights. The president of the party, Yvon Bonhomme, also plans to seize international bodies to this effect.
The PARASOL party does not just do the advocacy of « madan Sara » and people with reduced mobility. This week, he goes further to lodge a complaint in front of the Office of Citizen Protection (OPC) against any persons or institutions that constantly violate the rights of these long marginalized people in the country. In his complaint, he attracted the attention of OPC officials to other categories suffering the same fate, in this case: children, peasants, policemen, teachers, women, among others. On the occasion of this filing, the policy insisted on the paralysis of the school system during lock country events that it considers an affront to the rights of children.
This lock country event he mentioned revealed everything about the human rights violation dimension in Haiti. Confined to her home, the population was not even entitled to free movement. The « madan Sara » paid for their economy and their bodies by the wickedness of political extremists, insists the number two of the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE). The disabled, meanwhile, have not been treated more favorably than the aforementioned category, he said. According to the president of PARASOL, his complaint aims to draw the spotlight on what he calls: the predators of human rights.
Leaving the country in search of greener skies, Haitian immigrants face their own set of problems. Well aware of the situation, he also lodged a complaint against the Dominican Republic which spared no effort to trample the rights of a multitude of Haitian people. He denounces what he calls the decision of shame made by the Dominican authorities to revoke the nationality of many people descendants of a Haitian family. In his opinion, it is a serious violation of human rights that he describes as discriminatory.
In the opinion of the CEO of the MHAVE, the Dominican Republic in doing so, violated all human rights conventions. It is indeed a crime against humanity. And in this vein, PARASOL is committed, said Mr. Bonhomme, to seize international bodies to this effect including the High Commission of the United Nations.
